This year we would like to highlight 2 charitable organizations whose actions really moves us, they will be our guests of honor for this 14th edition of the Worldwide Festival in Sète and you will be able to, if you wish that is, support them on several occasions during the festival.
The first of these two charities is named Solidarité Urgence Sètoise and their main goal is to help people experiencing social exclusion and homelessness in Sète. The mission of the Association is to propose concrete solutions on access to social rights, health, housing, the exercise of parenthood, culture and all other forms of citizen actions likely to favor insertion. The city of Sète hosts our festival every year, but also our memories, our joys and it seemed important to us to support the actions carried out in Sète to help its most deprived inhabitants. Among other things, you could collect your remaining food at the end of your stay in Sète or support the actions of the charity by any form of donation.
SOS MEDITERRANEE was founded by European citizens determined to act against the tragedy of repeated shipwrecks in the central Mediterranean. Its teams have three missions: save lives at sea, protect survivors until they land in a safe harbor and raise awareness on the situation of the migrants crossing the mediterranean to escape from war zone, famine, persecutions …
Since the start of the operations and the departure of its first ship, the Aquarius, SOS MEDITERRANEE, in partnership with MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERE, has saved nearly 30,000 lives in 250 interventions. Today SOS MEDITERRANEE is more than ever determined to go back to sea with a new ship because the tragedies continue and the mobilization must not falter.
More than ever, SOS MEDITERRANEE, whose bulk of the budget is made up of private donations, needs support. Our Mediterranean Sea is a port to the world, a living space, and what we share together in Sète each year during the festival is a vital expression of its essence . But it is also the scene of unbearable human tragedies. These images and these unsustainable stories that have become almost banal are surely as much upsetting to you guys as it is to us, so do not close your eyes and together we can help SOS MEDITERRANEE.
