Laurent Garnier is more than a little different from your average DJ. Going above and beyond the 'superstar DJ ' tag, he's widely recognised as one of the best DJs in the world. Since his debut at Manchester’s Hacienda in 1987, Laurent Garnier has played a key role in the development of the electronic music scene. Over the last 20 years he has built his international reputation by playing at all the major clubs and festivals worldwide. Throughout his career, Laurent Garnier has always produced his own music. With a slew of key production credits to his name, in 1994 he created his own record label F Communications. Bringing his eagerly awaited new live project to WF Sete, featuring another celebrated French techno personality ScanX and musicians, we are bursting with anticipation to experience this unique live show. Beatspoke are our New Talent Search Winner, beating out hundreds of other artists,". To feel the full force of Soil & "Pimp" Sessions you really need to be at the foot of a stage. After all, the Japanese self-proclaimed “death jazz” stylists have built their name around a reputation for fast, frenetic live shows, influenced as much by the interstellar escapades of Sun Ra as by post-Coltrane spiritual jazz and the confrontational assaults of the early 80s New York no wave scene.
DETROIT TECHNO’S THIRD WAVE
Along Terrence Parker and Moodymann, Theo Parrish represents the third wave of Detroit techno. Theo' s musical expression fuses the rhythmic, disco-based pulse of Chicago house with the modernist motorik soul of Detroit techno; at the same time pointing to a lineage in black music that runs directly from Sun Ra to Sound Signature. "Jazz spawned house music, jazz spawned hip hop, jazz spawned funk and they all reflect back into that," says Theo. So if you want to see the future via the raw, soulful and black roots of house music, then you've come to the right teleporter. Parrish's music has perfected this sense of always becoming, but never quite being, something fixed, defined.
FRENCH HOUSE IS ALIVE & KICKING
The dynamic trio of musicians dOP are the latest French sensation, combining live instruments, vocals and electronics as if it was the simplest thing in the world. Striking just the right balance between deepness and fun whilst focusing on the finer details, dOP leave the brash and the absurd to others. Hailing from France and playing electronic music, through a swinging jazz aesthetic, dOP’s sound is head music for the heart, body music for your head.

Mocky is one third of the Canada-Berlin axis consisting of Gonzales, Peaches and him. He has also been a member of the groups Puppetmastaz, The Shit, Son, The D.O.M, The Freeway Band and The Roustabouts. Being the musical maverick he is, Mocky likes to be a mixture between Prince & Bob Dylan, using acoustic instruments for electronic purposes. Mocky is known for a sense of humour in his music and combining elements of hip-hop, and experimental sounds into memorable tunes. TODD TERJE THE COSMIC KID
Along with Oslo Norway contemporaries Lindstrom and Prins Thomas, producer Todd Terje is a total disco fanatic. Todd Terje is responsible for some of the best music being produced at the moment. From his original 12"s on Full Pupp records, remixes of artists such as Lindstrom, Felix Laband, etc.. to his re-edits works under the name of Tangoterje on labels such as Supreme records or G.A.M.M. , you can't go wrong with this man.
PRINCIPLES OF GEOMETRY
The duo of Guillaume Grosso and Jeremy Duval is one of the most seminal ever to have graced French electronica for a long time. While most of their contemporaries are ensconced in absurdly sophisticated clicks and cuts and dementedly chiselled drills, Principles take the emotional route and develop an accurate and refined cocoon of vintage synthesizers, spanners, majestic basslines and, as jacked as it may sound, Wagner-like harmonie.
THE RISE OF DORIAN CONCEPT
Rising star, Dorian Concept, is an Austrian producer who is tearing up sound systems all over the world. Dorian has become renowned for his energy fueled live performances, amazing audiences worldwide by his ability to construct crazy but dance floor friendly beats on the spot with mini keyboards like the Micro Korg, The Alesis Micron and even toys like the Casio. Many music heads marked Dorian Concept as one of the most promising beat producers of 2009. Well you just need to see him play live to understand why....!
DUB STEP ACCORDING TO...MARTYN
It would be fair to say that no other producer had quite the impact on their respective scene last year than Martyn, our top dubstep artist of 2008. The murky world of dubstep was shaken to its very core by the Dutch producer’s bass driven, techno infused cuts and Martyn’s recent slew of 12-inch singles took dubstep into the wilderness far outside London.
STEREOTYP’S KU BO PROJECT
KU BO is the exciting new project by WF favorite’s Vienna based bass-meister: Stereotyp. Known for his passion for Brazilian music and Afro beats as well as European club and bass culture, KU BO mixes the best of both worlds. IT'S CRUNCHTIME!
WF went to Vienna for a quick chat with CEE & Stereotyp from the Crunchtime crew. "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture - it's a really stupid thing to want to do." (Elvis Costello). But this can be said; at Crunchtime, we're feelers, we love it all and have brought together some amazing people with some crazy talent. It's not just about music, we refuse to only express one segment of our life, we want it all; music, art, culture, the heart and soul, we feel it. Stereotyp, Al Haca, Tritone, KU BO, Cee, Siqnature, Lil Monsta and are just a few musical projects of Crunchtime.
FEFE: URBAN ARTIST & MC
We met Fefe Talavera back in May 08 at the Worldwide Festival in Singapore when she was MCing with Al Haca & Stereotyp. Fefe is also one of the most respected urban artists and she recently collaborated with none other than Doze Green for an exhibition in Amsterdam called Omega Bridge. She does not do cute and female paintings. She creates strong and disturbing animals, that lives at the shady part of our soul.
